The fellowship program is sponsored by NIH's Fogarty International Center, NIAID, and other institutes.

If you have questions, contact either of the following:

Fogarty International Center's Directory of Grants and Fellowships in the Global Health Sciences, 130 pp. of various possibilities.

This program looks great, is for racial/ethnic minorities.  For the main program  the student needs to apply before enrolling in a doctoral program, but they have an award to support dissertation work as well..

The Association of Schools of Public Health has many fellowship and internship opportunities:

     ASPH programs

Our students have received support from some of the mechanism found at The School's Featured Funding Sources

including individual NRSAs (usually for minority or students with disabilities, but there are specific ones for HIV behavioral interventions open to all) and Fulbrights.

The Sommer Scholar program is for incoming students, and is a wonderful program:

Students have obtained support from the Center for a Livable Future, which provides Innovation Grants and Predoctoral Fellowships:

Students have also been successful with the NSEP:

The Institute of International Education is now adminstering three components of the National Security Education Program: Boren Scholarships for undergraduate students, Boren Fellowships for graduate students and the National Flagship Language Program (NFLP) Fellowships for advanced language training.

The 2007-2008 NSEP competitions are underway, and we are asking program alumni to help in spreading the word about this opportunity to eligible undergraduate and graduate students you may know.  As a past Boren Scholar or Fellow, you know what a beneficial experience the award can offer, and we hope that you will let others know about it. In addition, former Boren Scholars may apply for Boren Fellowhips, and former Scholars and Fellows may apply for the NFLP Fellowships.

Information about all three programs can be found at www.iie.org/nsep.

The Boren Scholarship and Boren Fellowship application are both offered only online at http://www.iie.org/programs/nsep/undergraduate/default.htm and http://www.iie.org/programs/nsep/graduate/default.htm respectively. The NFLP Fellowship application will be downloadable and available at http://www.iie.org/programs/nsep/flagship/default.htm by the end of October.

The application deadlines are:
January 17, 2007: NFLP Fellowships
January 30, 2007: Boren Fellowships
February 13, 2007: Boren Scholarships

Please contact us at nsep@iie.org or 1-800-618-NSEP, if you have any questions. Your cooperation and help in promoting the NSEP opportunities are greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

We have no experience with this, but it looks like they give scholarships (up to 50,000) for graduate study in any field.  Can not already be a grad student already; deadline is March before starting school in the fall.
